Sadly, similar to adults, children can also fall victim to cardiac arrest. This is why having a set of paediatric electrode pads is essential, especially if your business is frequented by children.

Paediatric pads are vital for using an AED on a child (aged 1-8). After the pads have been connected to the device, they automatically reduce the Joule output of the defibrillator to a level suitable for a child's heart.

Simply place the electrode pads as shown on the diagrams on the reverse and await the defibrillator's instructions. After the pads have been placed correctly, they will begin to analyse the child's heart and relay the information back to the device. This information will then be used by the defibrillator to determine whether a shock is required or not. If no shock is required, no shock will be delivered.
