Based on the designs of BS 5499 but with the addition of a flame symbol to enhance the meaning of the signs. Tests have shown the inclusion of the flame symbol significantly assists in recognition and understanding of the meaning of the escape symbol. Recommended to be used in hospitals, nursing, and rest homes. Available as a self-adhesive vinyl sticker, semi-rigid notice or a glow in the dark photoluminescent notice.
